Root Canal Therapy
Saving Your Natural Teeth
Root canal therapy is used to treat an inflamed or infected tooth pulp. The pulp, located at the center of each tooth, contains nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue that keep the tooth healthy. However, when enamel decay exposes the pulp to bacteria, it can become infected.
Common symptoms of an infected pulp include swelling around the tooth, heightened sensitivity to temperature, and pain in the tooth and surrounding gums. If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, contact LA LUXE Dental for a consultation with Dr. Ashley Fagan.
To treat an infected pulp, a root canal is necessary. During this procedure, Dr. Fagan removes the infected pulp from the tooth’s chamber and disinfects the canals. Local anesthesia or sedation will be provided to ensure your comfort.
Once the root canal is completed, a temporary filling will be placed over the tooth. It is normal to experience some sensitivity for a few days, and Dr. Fagan will recommend medications to manage discomfort. Avoid chewing on the treated tooth until the full restoration is completed. If any issues arise, contact LA LUXE Dental immediately.
